But don't you guys worry, it's awesome.
Many of you may be familiar with the Red Letter Media movie reviews that have become massively popular on Youtube (The epic Phantom Menace review series is the best summarizing of everything wrong with that movie I have seen in any sort of critique, seriously.) Well now the rather shady Mr. Plinkett has turned his attention to last year's Star Trek reboot, and it's pretty much as good as you'd hope, even given that he's reviewing a much better movie this time.
And yes, even though these are undoubtedly humorous, I think I'd honestly trust this particular critic's cinematic insight much more than I would your Roger Ebert's or your Peter Travers'. To me those guys don't critique movies, they just review them... any asshole can do that, really. Plinkett's reviews actually do have a great deal of actual criticism in them, with a healthy dressing of sometimes-disturbing humor. If you haven't checked these out before, this new review is a good place to start. (Do keep in mind these tend to be VERY LONG, so... grab a snack.)
